WELCOME NOTE FROM
The Executive Director

What matters is not a distance but the first step……?

The journey started with a second, turned into minutes, hours, days weeks, months and then years have gone. When we started the movement for social transformation through our organization in 2005, we faced several challenges.

Whatever hurdle we faced, remains to be the source of strengthening our spirit of working for the betterment of our society. Kindly, I invite you to read our organization profile, while reading whichever found to be inspiring you make it as credit to our tireless efforts. Meanwhile whatever found to be not inspiring you simply there is where we can start receiving your advice so that we make everything good in order to realize our vision and goals.

We real value your decision of spending time of passing through our organization profile. Our successes are not resulted from our own efforts therefore may I say thank you to every one whose support made Rafiki-SDO to be among the vibrant NGOs in Shinyanga and Tanzania at large.

Our Story

RAFIKI Social Development Organization (RAFIKI-SDO) is a Tanzanian non-governmental organization established in 2005 and headquartered in Shinyanga. For nearly two decades, we have worked alongside communities to empower children, youth, women, and vulnerable populations to realize their rights and achieve their full potential.

Through community-driven and rights-based approaches, RAFIKI-SDO designs and implements sustainable development programs that improve access to education, health services, child protection, economic opportunities, and social wellbeing.

Today, RAFIKI-SDO operates across multiple regions of Tanzania, partnering with communities, government institutions, development agencies, and international donors to create lasting and measurable impact.

OUR MISSION

Championing the rights and services of children, youth, and vulnerable groups into the development age.

OUR VISION

A world where children, youth, and vulnerable communities are empowered to claim their rights, shape their own future, and live with dignity.
