MKUA Project is a five years project from (October 2022 to October 2026) implementing by Rafiki-SDO In partnership with Save the Children International with the overall Goal of contributing to a strong civil society that demands and supports the fulfilment of children’s rights-holding states to account, mobilizing and empowering children in their communities. From that Goal Rafiki-SDO increase awareness on children councils to demand their rights, raise their voice and enhance children participation in decision making towards prevention of abuses a rounding themselves through holding duty bearers accountable. This project is implemented in three councils which are Shinyanga Municipal Council, Shinyanga District Council and Kahama Municipal Council. Through MKUA project Rafiki-SDO support District Junior Councils to conduct meeting with the LGAs officials to track LGA budget spending and priorities, meetings at LGA level with CSOs, Junior Councils and LGA Official to influence annual budget and plans and conduct dialogues between Children Councils representatives with relevant authorities and decision makers during planning and budgeting process to ensure children issues are prioritized.
